Above ground, Dearborn’s PEACE Parks serve as a local attraction and treasured green space, but just below these state-of-the-art parks, stormwater retention barrels are hard at work. The City has implemented new stormwater retention and water usage technology at public parks, including an innovative sprinkler system at PEACE Park West, which is designed to store 60,000 gallons of stormwater in four underground basins. These four basins store water used to irrigate the park during the warmer months.
