Kari kot The local community has successfully restored the causeway at Paizly Danga on Karikot Road, which was an IED blast three weeks ago. The road has now been reopened for traffic through a self-help initiative by the residents.
According to details, the explosion caused by an improvised explosive device (IED)was devastating. It tragically claimed the life of a three-year-old girl, Tabassum, in a nearby house. The blast also shattered windows and destroyed solar panels at the local hospital and adjacent homes. The causeway itself was completely demolished, cutting off the area’s ground connection and causing immense hardship for the public.
In the absence of immediate action from the district administration or relevant departments, the local residents took matters into their own hands. By collecting donations and providing manual labor, they have made this vital highway functional once again.

The restoration of the Paizly Danga causeway was carried out under the supervision of local elders Malik Aziz Bhatti and Kamal Wazir.
Local elders stated that the road closure had created severe difficulties, particularly in transporting patients to the hospital and disrupting commercial activities. Given the urgency, the community decided to act on its own.
The elders have now called upon the government to provide technical assistance to ensure this community-built structure is made more durable and sustainable. Furthermore, they demanded that the authorities pay special attention to the law and order situation in the area to prevent such tragedies in the future.
