Watch as I share with you all How To Drain and ReFill The Transmission Fluid on The 2021 Hyundai Elantra SEL AND How To Clean The Throttle Body, and Perform a Complete Reset of The Throttle Body, All Within This Video…
Watch this video from START to FINISH to prepare yourself for the potential possibility of one day performing these tasks yourself.
Before performing any do it yourself maintenance on your vehicle, please be sure to consult with a certified mechanic before taking on any of these tasks shared within this video.
Before performing any vehicle maintenance yourself, please be sure to follow all safety guidelines, and understand everything is user beware. If you feel uncomfortable performing any maintenance yourself, please instead have a professional technician perform these types of jobs for you on your behalf. In this video I drain and refill the transmission fluid as well as thoroughly clean the vehicle’s throttle body. If you choose to do the same, realize by doing so, you are putting yourself and your vehicle at your own risk by doing the same. EXTREME CAUTION before doing the same is ADVISED.
Some helpful tools I utilized within this video include multiple socket wrench extensions and ratchets, 15/16” socket, 10 mm socket, flat head screwdrivers, phillips screwdriver, needle nose pliers, fluid catch pan, sharpie markers, two funnels, CRC throttle body cleaner, shop towels, microfiber cloths, paper towels, 3/8” adjustable torque spec socket wrench, NEW transmission fluid quart bottles…
I will be going ahead and performing another transmission fluid exchange in 500-2,000 miles, along with changing out the drain plug bolt and fill bolt with fill bolt washer at that time. Today’s fluid drained was just under 3 quarts of SP-CVT1 Automatic Transmission Fluid, and exactly what drained, was the amount of NEW fluid refilled directly back into the transmission via the fill hole…
Please Proceed with EXTREME CAUTION BEFORE PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE YOURSELF. Safety goggles and gloves and masks are recommended, as well.
I am not, nor do I claim to be, a Hyundai authorized certified technician or ASE certified mechanic. Performing any of these vehicle maintenance repairs or jobs, comes with a risk of permanently damaging your vehicle. USER BEWARE.
Always double check replacement parts and fluid identification numbers, for compatibility, by matching exact part numbers, especially for critical components like transmission compents and more. Ignoring these checks can lead to engines misfires, transmission failures, sensor problems, reduced performance and or long term damage.
