Gartenmeister Fuchsias! Fuchsias For Warm Climates

One of my favorite plants! The hybrid of Fuchsia triphylla, Fuchsia gartenmeister! Fuchsias for warmer climates are ticky to come by and while this plant doesn't have the classic foliage of typical hybrid Fuchsias they still stand out in the garden and demand attention. There are several Fuchsias that are becoming which are more heat tolerant, but the Gartenmeister and it's variations are the most common. Fuchsia boliviana is one of my favorites, I suggest looking that one up if you like the Gartenmeisters! Not only are these heat tolerant fuchsias but they can also take far more sunlight, just avoid hot afternoon sun. I know a lot of people like to stay away from plants that need to be cut back after flowering but the flowers are so long lasting on these plants that it's worth the little time spent on pruning every couple of months. Plant these Fuchsias in the ground in your shade garden or pot them in hanging baskets, wherever you plant them in the home and garden you will find pollinators! This is an excellent plant for hummingbirds, they visit mine several times a day. Growing Fuchsia indoors is also much easier with the Gartenmeister. Fuchsias as houseplants can be tricky as they typically like a shift in day and night temps, but the Gartenmeister is not as picky making overwintering fuchsias much easier!
