IMO Reports On Seismic Activity at Grjótárvatn 6.10.25

Several earthquakes were recorded at Grjótárvatn on Snæfellsnes Peninsula on the night of October 2, 2025. The series of earthquakes began around 4 a.m. and continued into the morning. The largest earthquake measured 3.2 in magnitude and was felt widely in Mýri and Borgarfjörður.

The activity is a continuation of the seismic activity that has been noticeable at Grjótárvatn since the fall of 2024. (Source IMO)
