Who Is OSHA or The Occupational Safety & Health Administration? This video provides a brief overview of who OSHA, what they do, and why the are important when it comes to worker safety.
Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, Congress created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance (OSHA, 1970).
OSHA protected employees in the private sector as well as federal employees. State and municipal workers are protected under specific stat and local plans.
