Jeju Forum-Special II with Former President of Timor-Leste, Jose Ramos-Horta 호세 라모스 오르타 전 동티모르 대통령

Joining us on this week's episode of "The Diplomat" is former president of Timor-Leste and recipient of the 1996 Nobel Peace Prize Jose Ramos-Horta.

Ramos-Horta is a fiery and committed advocate of peace and human rights who dedicated his adult life to the independence of his country. After independence in 2002, he served as foreign minister (2002-2006), prime minister (2006-2007) and president (2007-2012). The former president recently paid a visit to Korea to share his vision for "overcoming legacies of the past and promote reconciliation and peace in the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia."

On this episode, Ramos-Horta shares his vision for permanent peace on the Korean peninsula as well as the decades he spent fighting for his country's freedom, along with his heartfelt condolences to the victims of the Jeju 4.3 Incident.
