Hilary Duff (born September 28, 1987, in Houston, Texas) is an American actress, singer-songwriter, producer, author, and entrepreneur, best known as a teen idol in the early 2000s. Duff first rose to prominence playing the title role in the hit Disney Channel series "Lizzie McGuire" (2001–2004), establishing herself as a relatable teen icon.

Following her television success, Duff transitioned to music with her debut studio album, "Santa Claus Lane" (2002), followed by the breakthrough pop-rock album "Metamorphosis" (2003), featuring hits like "So Yesterday," "Come Clean," and "Why Not." She released several more albums, including "Hilary Duff" (2004), "Most Wanted" (2005), and "Dignity" (2007), which featured more mature themes and electronic dance-pop sounds. In 2015, Duff returned to music with the album "Breathe In. Breathe Out."
