‘Fate: The Winx Saga’ was the Netflix live-action adaptation of the animated children’s show ‘The Winx Club’. A deal for a graphic novel series was made with Maverick (under Mad Cave Studios) before the franchise was cancelled, as companion material for the show. Once it was confirmed there would be no season 3, Maverick and Rainbow decided that the graphic novels would now be a continuation of the series instead, and contracted Olivia Cuartero-Briggs as writer and Christianne Guillenardo-Goudreau as artist.
