I’m back with more runs for everyone. In this journey, we take our first run along the 🟢Green Line🟢 with the Alstom cars. This ride was fun and had some cool stories to tell with sport events, downtown and all sorts of colleges. I never knew this until I got to Greenbelt: Whenever there is a Nationals game, it is required for all trains that run on the 🟢Green Line🟢 to run 8 car trains due to how crowded the line can get. They run 8 car trains so that it can prevent heavy traffic amongst trains because if you have lots of 6 car trains during a game, every car will be crowded and there is not enough room to serve everyone. I’d like to acknowledge you fans who hang around and enjoy all sorts of stuff I do for you guys. So in one of my runs on the 🟡Yellow Line🟡, some people have asked me why the 🟡Yellow Line🟡 does not go to Greenbelt anymore. To answer that question, I think I might have an accurate response but I’m not 100% on it. I think the reason the 🟡Yellow Line🟡 now only runs between Huntington and Mount Vernon Square is to alleviate congestion along the line north of Mount Vernon Square because the 🟢Green Line🟢 runs a lot of trains and it can get pretty crowded lots of times like the 🔴Red Line🔴 does. When there are Nationals games especially, the 🟢Green Line🟢 can have huge congestion and can run a lot of trains. Also, the 🟡Yellow Line🟡 can run either 6 or 8 car trains at anytime. So, I think it is safe to say that it is convenient if 🟡Yellow Line🟡 trains end at Mount Vernon Square so that it can run service smoothly and can alleviate congestion. Honestly, this is very smart so that it can prevent overcrowding.
