How to do a system refresh on Windows 10?

Hi my name is Roger Ahuja and I'm going to take a couple of minutes and show you how to do a windows refresh on Windows 10. Now before you do your windows refresh, you should always make a backup. While this process shouldn't affect your data, you never know anything can happen so I always recommend that you make a backup before you start this process. So I just want to point out you can see here I've got a couple of programs installed and a picture of a cat. Windows refresh what it will do is it will reinstall the windows operating system it will leave your data files intact, but you're going to have to reinstall your programs. So the first thing I'm going to do is sign out and then from this main screen once we get there, and from the main login screen, I'm going to hold down the shift key and go over here to the power down here and hit restart. That's while I'm holding down the shift key. And sometimes that's going to actually log in and you can repeat the process once you're logged in and then it will get you to the diagnostic screen or the diagnostic menu. So once we get to the diagnostic menu, we're going to go to troubleshoot here and we're going to hit refresh your PC. Now any applications that you've downloaded and installed from the Windows app store will be reinstalled but if you have office as an example which doesn't come from the app store, you are going to have to reinstall office and any other program as well. So here I just have to choose an account and then enter my password. Now this process may be a little bit different. I'm using a straight windows 10. If you have for example a Lenovo PC and it's got certain programs that came with it, those may get reinstalled because they may modify that particular refresh. So the process may be slightly different, but he concept here applies. So again this is just repeating what I had said that all the apps from the Windows store are going to be there. Anything that you installed from websites or any other program will need to be reinstalled and your personal files are not going to be changed. Okay so this is going to take a little while. Okay so after you've waited a while and booted back up. Enter your password, So here it's reinstalling the apps that I had purchased from the app store if there were any. Okay so once the machine is booted back up, you can see the picture of the cat is there and if we look at removed apps, it gives me a list of all the apps that were removed and that's it.
