It's time to bring on the information superhighway via theoldnet.com. This is what the early web looks like for those firing up there browsers for the very first time. The sky was the limit for this then very new technology. Not only that, the ability to surf the classic web using oldskool webbrowsers on old environments is very awesome. This is made possible by theoldnet.com, which pulls up the webpages stored on the Archive.org Wayback machine. One can see what search engines like Excite, Altavista, and Yahoo. If one need to check the weather, one could go to Weather.com to check the latest radar and satellite images. The power.
Why stop at theoldnet.com though, especially when one can visit the modern web via FrogFind. Frongfind is a search engine that allows modern webpages to load in as rendered text for those early browsers to handle. One can visit the BBC, Wikipedia, Snopes, etc. with FrogFind. It works with IE3 if one wants to use that browser (for whatever reason), or even read up on Windows 11! (I'm better off if WFW 3.11 anyway).
Both Netscape and IE Version 3 are running under 86Box with Windows For Workgroups 3.11. The system emulated is an IBM PS/ValuePoint 433DX/Si with an Intel 486 DX2 Processor, 16MB's of RAM, and a Cirrus Logic GD5434. Windows is running at the 800 by 600, 256 color screen depth. Also installed is the Creative Labs SoundBlaster 16. The Novell NE2000 Ethernet Adapter is enabled using the Slirp Protocol to communicate with the outside world.
