SAILING the AZORES - Horta to Sao Miguel - FOULED ANCHOR

We planned an early morning departure for the 150-nautical-mile sail to Ponta Delgada. But unfortunately, our anchor was fouled, so we had to call a diver to free it.

To make things worse, the motor on our anchor windlass stopped working. We checked the solenoid, wiring, and all connections, which meant it could only be the motor.

The divers from https://www.norbertodiver.pt/ arrived around 5:30 p.m. and quickly freed our anchor for €80. They were friendly and efficient - great service if you are unfortunate enough to get stuck.
After manually getting the anchor on board, we were finally able to set off.

It turned out to be a brilliant overnight sail with amazing conditions. We arrived in Ponta Delgada after dark, but since it's an easy port to enter and we've been here twice before, it wasn't an issue.

We'll be staying in Ponta Delgada until November, when we'll decide on our next destination.
