The villa de Vecchi, also known as Mussolini's villa, was built by the Count Cesare de Vecchi on the island of Rhodes as a retirement home for the dictator, during the period of Italian rule.
Mussolini never spent any time in the villa, located on the mountain of Profitis Ilias and shortly after the Dodecanese were ceded to Greece in the 1940s, the site was abandoned.
It stands as a testimony to the history of the island...
