Choosing From The Photo Style Menu For Your Photography - Lesson 23
Photo styles can be confusing if you are new to photography. Each one will have a subtle difference that can add or remove things like sharpness, colour saturation, contrast and more.
One caveat is this.
If you shoot JPEGs only, those settings are "baked" in and are very difficult to change or manipulate later on in Lightroom/Photoshop. However, if you shoot RAW, all settings can be changed in Lightroom or Photoshop RAW software so it isn't as important. Shoot RAW whenever possible.
An example is if you set the picture style to Black and White shooting JPEGs, you will only ever have a black and white image. However, if you shoot the B&W picture style in RAW, you can always switch back to any other picture style in editing and thereby bringing back the colours.
