Tonight, I’m starting a brand-new Animal Crossing: New Horizons island on the Switch 2 as we prepare for the upcoming free 3.0 update arriving January 15th!

I’ve poured 2,500+ hours into Animal Crossing over the years — but I played most of that before I started YouTube… and I haven’t played in a couple of years. So this is a true fresh start and a big nostalgia moment.

For a couple years now, fans thought Animal Crossing was done after Nintendo said the 2.0 update would be the last — but with the Switch 2 release and the surprise 3.0 announcement, it feels like the perfect time to come home.
