Our first fertility treatment was #IUI to see how my body reacts to small amount of hormones before we dive Into something more extreme.
IUI is Intrauterine Insemination where you take hormones for 5 days to stimulate all the available follicles to produce a mature egg, then you give yourself a trigger shot to force your body to ovulate all the follicles at the same time. The day after, your doctor collects your partners sperm and injects it directly into your uterus using a catheter. It’s not painful and you are fully awake for this.
