One of the biggest challenges of a PhD is that there is no set timetable or syllabus to follow: You have to manage your own time and your own project, deciding which path to follow and what to prioritise on the way. Planning and organisation is part of the solution, but research is inherently unpredictable by nature and requires creativity and adaptability to cope with the unexpected problems that arise. In this talk, you'll learn why standard techniques for time management often fail, how to cope when things go wrong, and how to adapt during the different phases of your PhD.
