This hotel and pub was built in the mid 18th century. It was up for sale back in 2020. With the area being one of the most populated lochs in Scotland, I’m surprised no one ever took it over. I reckon it was beyond repair and had to be stripped back to its original structure. Historical Scotland decided Planning permission was not granted unfortunately unless massive works were done. With crumbling floors & with pretty much everything decayed and falling apart. Mostly everything was stripped out. All we had was some items left behind from when it was once in use. We found an old news paper dating back to 2004. The old menu showing its alcoholic drinks, and much more.. it’s sad that no one took this over. It would have been a beautiful spot with stunning views. It would have certainly been a gem back in its day.
The stunning old silver cross high chair was my favourite find in there.
