A day after 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana was extradited to India to face trial, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) revealed that following the Mumbai terror attack, which left 166 dead and over 238 injured, Rana had allegedly told his co-conspirator David Coleman Headley that the nine LeT terrorists killed during the assault “should be given the Nishan-e-Haider” — Pakistan’s highest award for gallantry in battle, reserved for fallen soldiers.
The DoJ statement also added that “after the attacks were complete, Rana allegedly told Headley that the Indians deserved it.”
