Lure Fishing For Ballan Wrasse (HRF)

This one is from a really enjoyable session we had on the rocks last month. It was a bit of an exploratory trip for us and it started off less than ideally after we climbed down a rather steep bank only to find we couldn't get close enough to the water to fish effectively, the climb back up was hard, to say the least!

Thankfully, we then found a way down to the rocks and had a really productive few hours throwing soft plastics at ballan wrasse. Ben forgot his heavier set up but had great success with a scaled down approach whilst I stuck with my old faithful wrasse stick and put our Big Lerf Wrasse Combo Kit to the test and was very pleased with the results.

I caught most of my fish on Keitech lures, although did catch a few on home poured lures that a lovely guy called Steve Butler sent to me. Steve sadly passed away earlier this year, but I'd like to think he was smiling down from somewhere, seeing his lures still working their magic.
