Dhari Devi a temple located on the banks of the Alaknanda River between Srinagar and Rudraprayag in the Garhwal Region of Uttarakhand, India.

भारत में रहस्यमय और प्राचीन मंदिरों की कोई कमी नहीं है। एक ऐसा ही मंदिर उत्तराखंड के श्रीनगर से करीब 14 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है, दरअसल, इस मंदिर में मौजूद माता की मूर्ति दिन में तीन बार अपना रूप बदलती है। मूर्ति सुबह में एक कन्या की तरह दिखती है, फिर दोपहर में युवती और शाम को एक बूढ़ी महिला की तरह नजर आती है।

The temple dedicated to goddess Kali is a much worshiped Goddess of the region. People are of the opinion that the stone carved deity changes face of a girl, woman, and of old lady as the day progresses. A mythological account says that once a severe flood washed away a temple and Dhari Devi’s idol was trapped against a rock near the village Dharo. Villagers heard the wail of the idol and a devine voice directed them to install the idol there.

Rudraprayag - Confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini Rivers
The famed town of Rudraprayag is named after the Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva. This heavenly town is encircled by the emerald lakes, glaciers, foaming rivers and silver streams.

The pristine town of Rudraprayag is nestled on the holy confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, at 34 km from Srinagar (Garhwal). It is perched at an average elevation of 895 meters about 2,936 feet above sea level.

Riding Bike in the Himalayas is really enthusiastic, Every curve has something to say but not receptive enough to get that hence travelling all over. 6 friends started our bike journey from Haridwar and there were some hurdles but we managed it with laughter. Tungnath is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world and is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in the Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tungnath mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys.

तुंगनाथ उत्तराखण्ड के गढ़वाल के रुद्रप्रयाग जिले में स्थित एक पर्वत है। तुंगनाथ पर्वत पर स्थित है तुंगनाथ मंदिर, जो 3460 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर बना हुआ है और पंच केदारों में सबसे ऊँचाई पर स्थित है। यह मंदिर हजारों वर्ष पुराना माना जाता है और यहाँ भगवान शिव की पंच केदारों में से एक के रूप में पूजा होती है।

कहा जाता है कि पांडवों ने ही इस मंदिर की स्थापना की थी। पंचकेदारों में यह मंदिर सबसे ऊंची चोटी पर विराजमान है। तुंगनाथ की चोटी तीन धाराओं का स्रोत है, जिनसे अक्षकामिनी नदी बनती है। मंदिर रुद्रप्रयाग जनपद में स्थित है और चोपता से तीन किलोमीटर दूर स्थित है।

Elevation : 3,470 m (11,385 ft)

It is one of the Panch Kedar and is believed to have belonged to an ancient era almost 1000 years old. The foundation of this temple was laid down by Arjuna who was the third of the Pandava brothers. It was built in the North Indian style of architecture and has a dozen shrines of other Gods surrounding the temple.

The five temples designated in the strict pecking order to be followed for pilgrimage for worship are the Kedarnath Temple (Sanskrit: केदारनाथ) at an altitude of 3,583 m (11,755 ft), the Tungnath Temple (तुंगनाथ)(3,680 m or 12,070 ft), the Rudranath Temple (रुद्रनाथ) (3,559 m or 11,677 ft), the Madhyamaheshwar Temple.
