BGS gamma irradiation systems use high-energy radiation to efficiently sterilize medical products in their packaging, for example.

The high-energy gamma rays destroy the DNA of microorganisms, rendering them harmless. Radiation sterilization is the only process to sterilize products in their packaging without significantly increasing the temperature and without using chemicals. For physical reasons, radiation cannot produce radioactivity in products.

Advantages of the process at a glance:
Radiation sterilization works residue-free and without chemicals.
The products are ready for immediate use without any waiting time.
Also suitable for temperature- or moisture-sensitive materials and products with difficult geometries.
