Motors for Robots: Sensiors Course Part 4A

In this video I explore DC motors for robots. These include:
DC motors without encoders
DC Motors with encoders
Brishless DC (BLDC) Motors: again with and without encoders
Coreless motors (this is included later on a session on drones)
Stepper Motors
Servo Motors

I have used over 20 different types of motors on robotics projects over the past 10 years and in the video I rate the motors I have used according to their stalled torque value.

I explore the mechanical properties of motors and relates these to their electrical properties. This will help in our robot design to get our robots to move!

I then examine projects I have done with these motors.In the past 10 years I have developed over 100 robotics projects.

In the second part of this series I will do two design examples and calculate the torque required by motors. I will include the design for the course robot based on M5Stack components.
