Railfanning Little Rock, AR 5-10-25 (feat. SD70M, Primer AC44C6M, NS/KCS/FURX Power, and more)

With some free time on National Train Day 2025, I decided to slide over to the Amtrak Station in Little Rock, AR, on former MP trackage, to try my luck. Got some good action in the timeframe I was there, and even met Generic Railfan and a couple others! Also included some extras from the next day. Enjoy!

My apologies for not using a tripod. My truck broke down in May, and I got a loaner for the time being. Stupid me left my tripod back in the other truck.

5-10-25
(0:00): A NB UP local/manifest passes the Little Rock Amtrak Station with an SD70M leader. While SD70Ms were at one point the most common UP power, and EMD's largest order to date, they've become less common since PSR, so this was definitely nice to see.

(3:51): A NB UP grain train rolls by with a Primer AC44C6M trailing, on its way from NS to its new home on the FXE after the rebuild (if you heard, FXE bought some of NS' rebuilt C6Ms). After it passes, it gets raced by a NB manifest. The manifest crawls to a stop, then in the next clip, we'll see it resuming its trip.

(22:50): A SB UP manifest exits Little Rock with a KCS DPU, and an almost demonic number on the leader, not to mention some graffiti on the trailing engine. Would be awesome if the leader was still in the Shield/Letters scheme.

(36:41): A pair of what I believe are V-22 Ospreys (not sure they're Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps examples) fly overhead. Gotta love the planes with the visible propellers.

(36:59): A NB UP manifest passes by with some foreign power I was kinda hoping not to see.. Not that there's anything wrong with NS, but I see these suckers all the time back at home, so I was hoping for more UP, or literally anything else (except CSX, again, I like CSX, but I see those all the time too). Sorry, black and white horses. It's not your time to shine.

(42:06): The nose of a SB UP manifest pops up around the bend. He has to wait for a couple trains before he can proceed.

(42:45): A NB UP manifest creeps by the station with an SD70AH-T4 leader. The trailing GEVO is three digits off from Misty from Rails of Highland Valley.

(1:00:33): A SB UP manifest accelerates out of Little Rock with a Block Letter (repainted) AC4400CW leading the way. Sorry I didn't get the film the whole thing. My plan was to head back to the Petro Truck Stop where my truck was parked after this train-I requested my Uber ride too early and they got here before the train had passed. In the next clip while leaving, I tried to capture as much of it as I could. (the road runs along the tracks a bit, though mostly blocked by other buildings).

(1:16:17): Leaving Little Rock behind. I don't know how good my shot was, but when passing over the railyard, I found a UP manifest sitting, which appeared to have an SD70ACe and an SD70M (Flared Radiator).

(1:17:50): Passing a John Deere dealership somewhere in rural Arkansas the next day.

(1:18:10): Later in I think McGehee, AK, we pass rare NLA SW1 22 (ex-ATCX/EJE 244) sitting dormant with some woodchip cars.

(1:18:35): A couple clips of passing some sitting rolling stock. The first clip includes a SOO Line covered hopper.

(1:19:09): Nearly missed it! Passing a couple FURX Geeps.
