Driving to Death Valley and Badwater Basin: Ridgecrest, CA - Death Valley - Pahrump, NV - Real Time

In June 2021, I took my Dad with me on an Ultimate Road Trip across the country. This was the first trip my Dad and I took together since I was a kid, and we drove along the Gulf Coast, through the Big Bend of Texas, visited Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego, drove along the Pacific Coast Highway, Death Valley, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Deadwood, Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, and Badlands. The entire trip was 15 days, traveling over 7,400 miles through 26 states!

This real time video kicked off the second week of our trip. That day started in Ridgecrest, CA and headed through the desert East towards Searles Valley, before curving North through desert canyons and on up to CA 190. From CA 190, we drove a windy mountain up and through before descending deep into Stovepipe Wells, and the Death Valley National Park.
