The town of Zippori was the capital of the Galilee region for 2 centuries, it was a mixed city with a large Jewish community. During the 2nd century Zippori was the seat of the Jewish Sanhedrin, and the place where Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi edited and completed the six voumes of the Mishna ( Jewish Oral law).
