How to make a tripod quick change camera adapter plate

I was given a nice Cullmann tripod. But unfortunately it is missing the camera quick release plate. So in this video I try to make one, using my lathe and some aluminium square stock.
NOTE: This video is the narrated version of the video I made for the toolmaking competition. I actually started making this video, but halfway in, I realised it was getting too long. So I turned it into a shorter video for the competition.
