◉ Chapter: Current Electricity ◉ Topic :: When two electric cells of different e.m.f's are connected in parallel combination, what will be the equivalent e.m.f of the two cells?
I = I1+I2
∴ V /R = { E1/r1+ E2/r2 } - V ( 1/r1+ 1/r2)
∴ V = {E1/r1+ E2/r2} ÷ {1/R +1/r1+ 1/r2}
Again , V = I.R
∴ I = {E1/r1+ E2/r2 } ÷ [ 1+ {R (1/r1+ 1/r2 )}]
∴ Eeq = {E1r2+ E2r1} / { r1+r2} ;
This is the equivalent resistance of the two electric cells in parallel combination
∴ 1/ r eq = 1/ r1 + 1/ r2
∴ Eeq / req = E1/r1 + E2/ r2
