Aside from designing shoes… I actually have a Master’s in Architecture.
But I never really used it. Why? Because in the real world, architecture comes with a million permits and approvals — which kills creativity fast.
So now, I’m bringing that creative energy into something else:
🦂 A giant scorpion sculpture at my friend’s hotel here in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.
Originally, the plan was to build the frame out of metal. But this morning, during a walk to check out the horses… I stumbled on something better:
🌿 Bamboo.
Big, strong, and growing all over the property.
So I changed my mind — the entire structure will be built out of bamboo.
I’m going to document the entire build process over the next month: from sketch ➝ structure ➝ installation.
This isn’t just an art piece. It’s me reconnecting with my original craft — but on my own terms.
