संसद के शीतकालीन सत्र का दूसरा दिन भी हंगामेदार रहा. SIR को लेकर विपक्ष मोदी सरकार के खिलाफ हल्ला बोल रहा है. लोकसभा में पहले दिन की कार्यवाही विपक्ष के हंगामे की भेंट चढ़ गई थी और अब मंगलवार को भी सदन की शुरुआत कुछ ही मिनटों में हंगामे से हुई और लोकसभा को दोबारा स्थगित करना पड़ा. SIR पर चर्चा की मांग को लेकर विपक्ष के विरोध पर राज्यसभा में केंद्रीय संसदीय कार्य मंत्री किरेन रिजिजू ने कहा, "सरकार चुनाव सुधारों पर चर्चा के लिए तैयार है, विपक्ष को टाइमलाइन पर ज़ोर नहीं देना चाहिए।"

The Lok Sabha proceedings on the first day were marred by uproar by the opposition, and now on Tuesday too, the House began with uproar within minutes, and the Lok Sabha had to be adjourned again. In response to the opposition's protest demanding a discussion on SIR, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said in the Rajya Sabha, "The government is ready to discuss electoral reforms; the opposition should not insist on a timeline."
