Join me for a walk and talk in sunny Florida as I take a nostalgic deep dive into the wild world of the Sunset Strip—the bands, the scene, and the stories that may be lost to time.
One bizarre rumor I recall from back in the day? David Koresh—the infamous leader of the Waco Siege—allegedly hung out on the Sunset Strip and was associated with an L.A. band that borrowed its name from one of history’s greatest composers. I tried to track down the article where I originally read this, but like so many stories from the Strip, it may have disappeared into legend.
Whether this connection was real or just another myth from the golden era of rock 'n' roll, the Sunset Strip was a place of madness, music, and larger-than-life characters. This is my first-hand recollection of those times, from the packed clubs to the mysterious figures who wandered through.
