On my way back from a trade show in San Antonio, I stopped by the studio of my friend, Makeup Artist Matthew Mungle. Matthew was kind enough to share some knowledge on core molds. This is a topic that I get a lot of questions about, so here you go! Here, Matthew is going over the basic construction of a hand core mold used to cast a silicone glove for his Frankenstein fantasy makeup.
Now, not only is this a core mold, this also incorporates a collapsible core. The TC-1630 resin hand core breaks down into 3 pieces to allow for easy demolding of the cast silicone glove.
This makeup was the last in a series of prosthetic makeup projects that Matthew did for us at my old shop. He has now combined all of the makeups and related projects into a massive book covering every step of the process! Below I have included links to the main products used as well as Matthew's book.
