My dad, the late Phil May (1938-2018), was a New York advertising executive. He started his career as a copywriter in Los Angeles and then New York with J. Walter Thompson in the 1960s - 1970s and concluded as a senior vice president / creative director international with Dancer Fitzgerald Sample ("DFS" in the Chrysler Building) in the mid-1980s. This is his "Toyota Reel" with the following ads:
SUPRA – featuring racecar driver/designer Dan Gurney
CELICA – featuring Dan Gurney and son Jimmy
SR5 SPORT TRUCK – on the racetrack
5998 – The 5998 Workout (outdoors truck)
4WD SPORT TRUCK – Toyota Decathalon (hills, trails, streams, etc.)
TERCEL WAGON – “Vengrove Family” on the Move Outdoors
TERCEL – Lowest priced Toyota sub compact “Tip of the Iceberg”
CAMRY – Family ad in cul de sac
TERCEL 4WD WAGON – three guys go from country wise to city slick
MOJAVE – 2WD “Road Runner” in the desert
CAMRY – “Space” vehicle (countdown voiced by Phil May)
