The O-22C model holds a special place in George Lowden's heart, as he reintroduced it with fond memories of its exceptional tonal characteristics. Designed in 1976/7, this guitar delivers a sweet and clear sound with deep resonance, defying its jumbo size by maintaining a remarkably balanced and non-muddy tone. Whether you're strumming chords or delicately picking melodies, the O-22C excels in every musical style.

The O shape, the very first standard soundbox design created by George himself, remains unaltered since its inception. This design, the second largest amongst Lowden models, offers a unique voice and character that sets it apart. By carefully optimising the soundbox geometry and bracing voicing, the O enhances treble response while beautifully balancing the natural bass-heavy tonal characteristics found in larger-bodied guitars.

The choice of materials further contributes to the O-22C's exceptional sound. The back and sides are crafted from rich and resonant mahogany, which adds warmth and depth to the overall tone. The soundboard features the timeless beauty of red cedar, known for its excellent responsiveness and tonal clarity. The neck, constructed with a combination of mahogany and rosewood, provides strength, stability, and a smooth playing experience.
