NEUE STIMMEN 2019 - Impressions of the final round

Russian soprano Anna El-Khashem and Chinese tenor Long Long top the list at the 18th international singing competition NEUE STIMMEN 2019. The film offers impressions of the final round held in Gütersloh from October 19th to the 26th – a week filled with beautiful music and powerful emotions. Take this opportunity to listen to some of the young talents, and to hear what Dominique Meyer, Chairman of the Jury and Director of the Vienna State Opera, and Liz Mohn, president of NEUE STIMMEN, have to say.

The three top competitors in the women's and men's categories received cash prizes worth a total of €65,000. Some 1,500 young singers from 80 countries around the world applied to participate in the NEUE STIMMEN 2019, with 42 talents qualifying for the final round in Gütersloh. 18 of those who qualified made it to the semi-final, and 10 to the final. The Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, led by British conductor Jonathan Darlington, accompanied the young talents. The young singers presented a total of 122 arias in the course of the week-long competition.
