The South African National Defence Force has challenged anyone with evidence of a torture squad within the military to provide evidence. This after the organisation, Open Secrets, levelled allegations that a Military Hit Squad within the SANDF is responsible for various serious crimes, including torture, abduction, and murders. The reports also link the alleged hit squad to the murder of Hawks Investigator Colonel Frans Mathipa and the theft of high-calibre weapons and pistols from the military in 2019.
