It’s 1978, and you wake up in a canoe on the Mitchell River, deep in Cape York, Far North Queensland. Your recurve bow rests beside your leg, and as you look around, the lads are all there with you, ready to take on a three-week escapade living off the land, hunting pigs and catching barra.
This is a rare snapshot into the adventurous life of Peter Salleras and his wild bow busho comrades. A vision of then and now, incorporating some unseen dusty Super 8 film, this footage gives us a raw look into a time when the Cape was still wild, and the only plan was to go hard, live light, and let the river lead.
WILD CREEK brings you real, unfiltered moments of Australian outdoor culture. No scripts. No BS. Just real people doing real things in remote country — the kind of lives most people don’t even know still exist.
Real people. Real beasts. No scripts.
