I'd been a pretty avid reader before picking up the first Hitchhiker's book. But this had more of an impact, and that impact has lasted far beyond that initial reading. Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Trillian, Marvin, Fenchurch, Slartibartfast, and all the rest are some of my favorite characters in fictions.
These books, this property, the mind of Douglas Adams is extremely precious to me. And I'm just going to ramble about why for a bit, if you don't mind.
