Solid Nitrogen and the Surface of Triton, Moon of Neptune

Solid nitrogen forms on Triton, the largest moon of Neptune. The very low temperature and pressure on the surface of Triton allows for the formation of solid nitrogen. In this video, solid nitrogen is made by placing liquid nitrogen in a container. The results are explained by viewing the phase diagram for nitrogen.
