Tory Lanez' Attorney Was WORKING FOR ROC NATION?!? | Criminal Lawyer Reacts

Was Tory Lanez setup through an inside job? That's what he thinks, based on the complaint he filed with the California State Bar against his former attorney, Shawn Holley. According to the ethics complaint, Tory is alleging that Ms. Holley violated at least two ethical rules during her representation of him.

First, he alleges that she violated the rule against conflicts of interest, since at the time he consulted with her to obtain her representation, she was working closely as a producer and legal counsel on a show about her life that Roc Nation was creating! According to Rule 1.7 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, an attorney is ethically obligated to not represent clients that she has a conflict of interest with. If such a conflict exists, the attorney may not be retained unless and until all the affected parties give written, informed consent to waive the conflict. No such consent was given here.

This violation then led into the second ethical violation, which is a lawyer's duty to provide competent and diligent representation to their clients. Tory lists out several ways in which he felt his representation was not competent or diligent, even up to the point where Ms. Holley jumped ship and left the case in the middle of the trial.

Considering the obscene actions that Desiree Perez is alleged to have taken against her daughter Demoree Hadley in manipulating the medical and legal system in Florida, and the fact that she apparently has a close relationship with Shawn Holley, it raises several questions as to whether she decided to put her thumb on the scale in the Tory Lanez case in order to protect Roc Nation's golden goose, Megan Thee Stallion. This ethics complaint is certainly nothing to take lightly, and I'm very interested to see what sanctions, if any, are passed down by the California State Bar on Ms. Holley.
