CELEBRATED SUMMER - HUSKER DU (1985) Independent music video. remastered sound / please subscribe

Back in the early 80s, while I was in Film school in NYC, I was a big fan of Husker Du. I made this music video after their album New Day Rising came out and I presented it to Bob Mould Grant Hart and Greg Norton the next time they were in NYC. They liked it so much that they took me to the Warner Brothers headquarters in NYC to present it to the music biz execs for promotion on MTV. Unfortunately for me, Celebrated Summer was on one of their last SST albums and they had just signed to WB, so Warner Bros. declined to purchase or promote the video.

I kept in touch with Bob and Grant for the next year or so, hoping to do another video for them, but the logistics of me in college in NY and them in Minneapolis just didn't work out. In retrospect, I should have taken time off from college and went to Minneapolis to shoot their first official music video. I remastered New Day Rising from vinyl back in 2019 and the sound on this video is the result of my remaster. When I first made the video I did not have the tech for remastering audio and used the best available audio source as my master track to cut the film over. This was shot and edited on 16mm film stock.
