Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue says film studios think it’s okay to diversify film characters but “only in one direction”, following recent backlash to Netflix's new Queen Cleopatra series.
“So they can only be allowed to be played by ethnic minorities, ie. black and Asian people, even if they’re not racially of that heritage,” Ms Krakue told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“They do this just to drum up controversy."
