We were up at our cabin near Airport Flat and decided to jump into our jeeps to see how much the snow melted and if we could make it to the Gatekeeper on the Rubicon trail. We were at Loon Lake 4 days earlier and the lake was completely iced over. Things can really change in a few days. We didn’t plan on making in through the gate keeper, but we did. The trip back up the granite bowl was the most difficult part.
