Wave Of Events was an 18 month project which aimed to develop the calendar of gig racing events which take place around the coves, harbours and beaches across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This project was led by the Cornish Pilot Gig Association, the governing body for the inclusive and distinctive sport of gig rowing.
Wave of Events will support gig clubs in the delivery of their diverse, community-led events. The project will also optimise the colourful spectacle of gig racing for members of the public to enjoy.
Wave Of Events was funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council was chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
