We celebrate our Independence Day on 6th Dec every year. It is a very big holiday in Finland and this year it was the 104th. We've had a troubled past with our neighbour Russia and this fact still lingers in the Finnish psyche. Anyway, we celebrated this year at my mother's boyfriend's house in Hämeenlinna. Raimo has a traditional old house and Vinod got to have a tour. Being from India, my husband is very interested in how people live in this harsh cold climate. You'll also get to see many Finnish dishes as the Independence Day would be incomplete without lots and lots of food :)
