Matthews/Atlas Ariella Ceiling Fan

Matthews/Atlas Ariella (LK) 64" ceiling fan in brushed brass with light maple tone blades, shown with the optional light kit. This fan was featured in my most recent Spotlight, head over to that video for all of the major details. We all know that this design is nothing revolutionary, but it's a base that needs to be covered for any serious player in the ceiling fan market right now, and Atlas has really delivered something with a bit of individual character and a lot of design versatility. I personally think the problem with a lot of designs in this realm is that they typically stick to safer finish options that are guaranteed to sell, and since the design is derived from industrial style, they also tend to stay a little more in the realm of monochromatic painted or metallic looks. There've been some cool departures as well as more-recent evolutions, but nothing like the range of mix-matching that Atlas offers. It's really a game-changer for this style that nobody else can currently match. I love the way they designed the overlap at the base of the blades, it's not a detail entirely unique to this model, but again is a bit of a departure from the status quo. Also as mentioned in the main video, performance at higher speeds is remarkably quiet, even for this style of fans that already tend to be exceptionally quiet. Speaking in terms of CFM, it's not necessarily a top performer among similar size products, but for the pretty solid delivery it does offer, I am so impressed with how quiet the airflow is. I'm also pleased with the speed selection layout, coming off of working with Alessandra models which are great fans, but the speed selection and variety is a little lacking. I'd still love more range here, but the increments are better with the Ariella. Overall, another solid showing from the next era of Atlas, and as always I'm excited to see the quality and design philosophy continue into these new products.
