Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for mutual "understanding and support" as he met French President Emmanuel Macron in Beijing. Mr Macron's three-day state visit comes as the European Union seeks China's help to end the Russia-Ukraine war, while Beijing looks for diplomatic wins amid US tariffs. Mr Macron said both nations must rise above their "differences" for the "greater good". He also urged China to work with G7 countries towards rules-based economic governance.
