How to gather and shape a solid glass cube in preparation for cutting, grinding and polishing in the Coldshop. MFA Candidate and Instructor Katie Burkett demonstrates how to make a 2-1/4" cube out of molten glass utilizing the marver and calipers to ensure correct size.
Part 2 will demonstrate how to take this object into the cold shop and use the Tile Saw, Flatbed Grinders, Lathe and Hand-Lapping to create a perfect cube with a variety of surfaces.
