The "Aspire" technique is a four limbs coordination I use in my new Extreme Metal drumming.
IMPORTANT :
All what is said in this video is just my personal vision and doesn't aim to convince anyone !
I want to get my instrument well represented in recordings and on stage, meaning no electronic device, no samples in studio that would hide the real sound of the drums, no editing,... all that would dramatically change my sound and the nature of the instrument.
What I can hear on many modern productions and what happens when I sit behind a drum set (without any electric power) has nothing to do. Like a different instrument, a different performance.
A full kit with microphones is FOR ME the proper answer, coming back to the real instrument.
In the studio, the processing is for me not a problem as soon as it doesn't denature, misrepresent my instrument. (EQ, COMP, REVERB, other processing...
